The story revolves around Akhandanand Tripathi who is a millionaire carpet exporter as well as the mafia don of Mirzapur. His son, Munna, is a worthless, power-hungry successor who can go for any limit in order to get his father’s legacy. An occurrence at a wedding ceremony forces him to cross the track with Ramakant Pandit, a lawyer, and his sons, Guddu and Bablu. It increases into a hunger game of power, ambition and greed that creep up the fabric of this unruly city.

There is no heroic character in the series but you may find negative characters that competing to become the worse. There are also other web series where the hero is playing negative role compelling the fact. But in Mirzapur, there is no one that we can root for. This crime thriller web series is trying too hard to surprise the audience with some twists in the climax scenes but one can easily see them coming.

Talking about the characters performances in this crime thriller web series is decent. Pankaj Tripathi, which is already famous for his desi gangter roles in his previous projects, has not disappointed his fans by giving pure justice to his character.

Although, the character of Ali Fazal doesn’t seem to have loyalties but he came up with surprises in first few episodes of Mirzapur. Though Vikrant Massey is playing the role of an innocent boy in its initial episodes but the character finds to be directionless and we are hoping that in the upcoming episodes, his character may mould to other track. Due to the Over-Jealous character, which is played by Divyendu, seems to be over the top performance.

There are total 9 episodes of Mirzapur and are available on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon Prime is trying to come up with a web series that can give a great competition to Netflix’s Sacred Games and there was a huge hope with this crime thriller web series, Mirzapur, which seems to be not up to the mark of expectations.
