It will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri & is slated to release on 28th August 2020.

The actor has reportedly demanded Rs 40 crore for acting in the Hindi remake of Telugu film Jersey. According to a report published in DNA, Shahid Kapoor has asked for Rs 40 crore as remuneration for acting in the film. However, it is said that the whole budget of the Hindi remake was just Rs 30 crore. It is now unclear whether Shahid will be part of the Hindi remake.

Jersey is a moving tale about the protagonist named Arjun (played by Nani) and his struggles to make it big in Indian cricket. The story was a moving drama, which also starred Shraddha Kapoor and Harish Kalyan in pivotal roles.

However, there’s no official confirmation about the same. “Shahid and the makers met and they were brainstorming on who could be cast as the heroine and they all thought of Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna who’s a huge star already,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.

Looking at the original version, Mrunal’s character will be the anchor to Shahid’s, who goes on an emotional journey against all odds to play cricket for the country in his mid 30’s, when it’s time for most people to retire from competitive sports.
