Fire spreads on both ends of California; Katy Criticizes Trump over his tweet

Thousands of people have displaced from the nearby town as the fast moving wildfire has advanced towards Chico, City in Northern California. It is declared as the most destructive fire of the century as it has gulped many people and 9 are confirmed dead. 6,500 people have lost their homes in the fire and more than 9,000 acres of land has got burnt. Total sum of 52,000 people have been evacuated from the place of wildfire. As the fire advanced toward the town, fire officials have ordered to evacuate the nearby towns.

The Chico Fire Department said in a tweet, “Fire-fighters continue to actively engage the fire in order to protect life and property”. At a Friday afternoon press conference, Fire Department said that almost 6,000 buildings have been devastated in the wildfire. Cal Fire (California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection) spokesman Scott Maclean said that, “The town is devastated, everything is destroyed. There’s nothing much left standing”.  “This fire moved so fast and grew so fast a lot of people got caught by it,” he added.

The fire has spread at the both ends of the California. According to the forecasters, reason behind spreading of fire this quick is intense winds and low humidity. US president Donald Trump tweeted, “There is no reason for these massive and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor”. He added by saying that, “Billions of Dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now or no more Fed payments!”

The famous singer Katy Perry criticized US president by re-tweeting on his post and saying him “absolutely heartless”. The singer was annoyed when he threatened to withdraw central funding. She tweeted, “This is an absolutely heartless response. There aren’t even politics involved. Just good American families losing their homes as you tweet, evacuating into shelters.”

Celebrities including Will Smith, Kim Kardashian West, Caitlyn Jenner and Denise Richards had to leave their homes as the fire spread through southern California. Will Smith posted a story in Instagram saying, “The smoke is really close now and for the first time I can see fire. Our house is right there. We are not in the evacuation zone but I don’t like it so we are going to go.”

Katy Perry by putting relief also tweeted that, “There’s a lot of unknowns tonight…..but what we do know is we are here for you and as a community we will help you in any way possible”. She also honoured fire fighters and the evacuators by adding, “Immense gratitude to all the brave first responders out there putting their lives on the line for so many families. #CaliforniaFires”
