South Korean Smartphone Manufacturing Company – Samsung will now join Reliance Jio and jointly host an event at the Mobile World Congress 2017 trade show on 28th February 2017. For the first time, two giant companies do the joint event. One company is mobile giant and the other is telecom newbie.
The Joint Event of Samsung and Reliance Jio will be hosted and start on 28th February at 1:15 pm Indian Standard Time(IST). Now, the Reliance Jio is looking at it as a platform to market itself towards potential international business. The Reliance Jio company also seems to announce its international expansion plans.
In the month of September 2016, Reliance Jio started its services in India by launching Jio 4G service for the free trial for three months and already managed to build up subscribers amounting to millions. As per the recent data by TRAI that Reliance Jio customer base has increased by 21.02 million. The subscriber base went on to cross 1.12 billion in the month of November 2016.
Reliance Jio is the telecom service provider who started the ‘4G revolution’ in India offering free data packs and voice calling for six months. This free plan now ends 31st March 2017. Earlier, this plan ended on 31st December 2016, but the company extended it by giving Happy New Year Plan.
It looks like voice calling will always be free. The new plans of Reliance Jio company rolled out attracted several customers around the world. The Reliance Jio company set records by adding 16 million users within the first month of starting its operations.
In the month of January 2017, the service provider reportedly got 72.4 million subscribers. This was within 4 months time.
Two companies are now partnering and look like they will make an international impact in the global market too. The President of Reliance Jio – Jyotindra Thacker and the President Head of Networks Business at Samsung Electronics – Youngky Kim will host an event. This is the first Samsung-Reliance joint event at the MWC in Barcelona on 28th February 2017.
