As we all know the John Abraham’s starrer ‘Mumbai Saga’ has recently launched its movie trailer and has created a lot of buzz since its release. The movie is based on the set of the 1980s & 90s era where Mumbai started developing and some major incidents that changed the whole story of the city in that period.
The movie is basically an action crime film starring John Abraham playing the character of Amartya Rao. For those who are not aware, this character is created from a real-life story of a gangster named D K Rao. This is not the first time when John is playing as a gangster; he has previously nailed his performance where he played as Manya Surve. Now he is all set to amaze his fans and audience with another gangster appearance.
As we all know Mumbai’s past of the underworld has a huge impact in the city as well as in the country as well. That era was very complicated and these underworld activities have also changed the state’s capital. Among those many gangsters of that time, Amartya Rao was also one of them who were involved in the bloodshed history of the city. As the trailer is creating a lot of buzz after its release but now people also want to know who actually was Amartya Rao and what’s his story that the John Abraham is playing him as his lead character for the upcoming ‘Mumbai Saga’ movie.

D K Rao was born a a poor family in Matunga, Mumbai but he always wanted to have an expensive lifestyle for which he started doing the robbery. He has looted several banks in Mumbai during that era and became very skilled in doing that very easily. Soon, he wanted to rule Mumbai for which he joined hands with gangster Chota Rajan and started working under him. At the time when he worked for him, he has killed many industrialists as well as gangsters or anyone going against Chota Rajan, was his next victim.
Soon, he was recognised by Chota Rajan and from he became very close to him and after that, he ruled half of the Mumbai, involving himself in several illegal activities and breaking the law. He robbed many banks and supervised several blackmailing rackets while working for Chota Rajan. As the trust of Chota Rajan in him was increased, another gangster which we are mostly aware of -Dawood Ibrahim- wanted him to be killed. Dawood Ibrahim’s men also tried to kill him and once he was shot by them with 7 bullets, but he still survived. In order to protect him from Dawood Ibrahim’s men, he went to jail but still managed to stay in connection with the outside and underworld. But one day police unexpectedly raided the jail and caught D K Rao with several mobile phones and from then he is cut off from the underworld and is still in jail.
Based on his several crimes, the movie is revolved around those incidents and the film is now all set to get released on 19 March 2021.
