YouTube ‘King of Random’ star Grant Thompson dies aged 38 after paragliding accident: The King of Random creator, Grant Thompson, died at the age of 38, in a paragliding accident held in this week. Thompson was best known for creating as well as starring in videos on his YouTube account King of Random. As per to the reports, he had apparently gone out to Sand Hollow State Park in Utah but then he never returned. There are many people along with the YouTube community who are mourning on this big loss of one of their most popular content creators.
Thompson passed away on Monday evening and the news of his death was confirmed by his family on his social media pages.
His family wrote together with a YouTube video tribute of the much-loved internet star, “It is with great sadness to inform everyone that Grant Thompson passed away last night. Grant had great love and appreciation for his fans.”
“We invite you to share your thoughts for Grant and the channel in the comments,” his family continued. “Please do a random act of love or kindness today in honor of The King of Random.”
They further added, “Grant’s legacy will live on in the channel and the global community he created,”
However the family did not provide any more details regarding the Thompson’s death, but some reports says that the YouTube star died in a paragliding accident.
Thompson first joined the YouTube community in the year 2010 as “The King of Random” and soon he started gaining many subscribers with original videos regarding the “life hacks, experiments and random weekend projects.”
They tweeted alongside the tribute video, “We’re deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of Grant Thompson, a gifted, passionate and endlessly curious creator. We send our deepest condolences to his loving family, The King of Random team and fans,”
His fellow YouTube star Logan Paul also showed his grief on Twitter, he wrote, “stunned & heartbroken. a man full of vibrancy, curiosity, and passion. we’d talk back and forth about the ins & outs & of the internet, mental health, and creative strategy. RIP brother. @thekingofrandom”
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Utah told the outlet on Monday, that a call came in concerning an overdue paraglider who allegedly went off the radar nearby Sand Hollow State Park.
The caller also told the officials that the paraglider should have landed an hour before and also added that he was incapable to be reached on his cell phone, which stimulated an enormous search by local officials.
After using GPS data in order to determine Thompson’s estimated location, a helicopter apparently located his body along with his paragliding equipment and a video recording device later that evening.
Now, in order to carry on the investigation, authorities are reviewing footage from the device in order to determine what caused the tragedy. In the meantime, there is no such news regarding the investigation and the cause of death.
