Guru Ghasidas Jayanti 2018 Shobha Yatra, Significance, History, Messages Images & Pictures: Guru Ghasidas Jayanti is observed on 18th December every year in the state of Chhattisgarh in India. Guru Ghasidas was a promoter of the Satnami group of Hinduism in the initial 19th century. He established a Satnami civic within the public of Chhattisgarh that endures to this day.

Guru Ghasidas Jayanti also marks the birth anniversary of Guru Ghasidas who was born on 18th December 1756 in Giroudpuri, Chhattisgarh, India. He lived till 1836 and was mainly against caste system in India. This year it is going to be celebrated on Tuesday, 18th December 2018.

Guru Ghasidas Jayanti Significance

In harmony with Satnami education, Gasidas promoted equivalence as conflicting to the caste system. Following his path he discoursed primarily to lower caste Indians. In his early life, he himself was the victim of caste discrimination and dominance. Fom his early experience only he got motivated and started his motive to fight against caste system throughout his life.

Even though his lessons were related to those of Hinduism and Buddhism, but it is significantly different from Hinduism and Buddhism at certain points, which after his movement created a new religion.

His prominence was on fact, reality, truth, equivalence, social impartiality, and peace. He also disagreed the exercise of “murti puja”, where physical items are seen as personifications of god in the course of Hindu puja ceremonies, and he opposed some other aspects of Hinduism.

In order to spread his movement against caste system in India and to find resolutions for the further problems, Guru Ghasidas journeyed extensively all over the Chhattisgarh state. Therefore, on this day, on his birth anniversary his inheritance is celebrated on 18 December every year. Also, in his honour, the local Guru Ghasidas National Park and Guru Ghasidas University are named after him.

Memorials

The Government of Chhattisgarh retitled a share of Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve after him that is Guru Ghasidas National Park. The government also released a Central University called “Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya.”

About Guru Ghasidas

Guru Ghasidas was born in the state of India, Chhattisgarh on 18th December 1756. He was the son of Mahngu Das and Amrotin Devi.

Ghasidas addressed Satnam mainly for the people of Chhattisgarh and also lower caste people of Chhattisgarh. After the death of Ghasi Das in 1836, his lessons were passed on by his son, Balakdas.

Guru Ghasidas was the founder of the Satnami community in state of Chhattisgarh. Throughout his lifespan, the administrative atmosphere in India was one of manipulation. Ghasidas in his early stage has also experienced the evils of the caste system, which help him out to recognize the social underlying forces in a caste harassed society and reject social disparity. To find answers and explanations, he travelled broadly from corner to corner of Chhattisgarh.
