Harmony Day is celebrated every year on March 21st in Australia and this year it is going to be celebrated on 21st March 2019, Thursday. Harmony Day began in the year 1999, happening together with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Every single year, it is celebrated by the people coming together and taking part in local activities. The on-going message of Harmony Day is ‘Everyone Belongs’. The day is all about municipal contribution, inclusiveness, celebrating multiplicity, admiration and belonging.

Various social groups themselves choose how they would like to come together to mark the event such as a number of people have morning teas, others arrange a fair and some rejoice by dressing in national getups.

Harmony Day is celebrated annually since 1999 on 21 March in order to coincide with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The day is organised by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
