Memorial Day is Federal holiday in United States of America for remembering the people who have died while serving for the Armed Forces of America. All non-essential Government offices are closed, as are schools, businesses and other organizations. Most public transit systems do not run on their regular schedule. Many people see Memorial Day weekend as an opportunity to go on a short vacation or visit family or friends. Memorial Day is observed on last monday of may every year. On this day people do so many activities to give respect to the soldiers who are died while serving for our country and for those also who are still doing this so that we can live worry less and fearless. This day was formally known as the Decoration Day commemorating the man and woman who have died in the military service for the United States. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day and it is traditionally seen as the start of the summer season. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.
