Hyderabad: Notorious temple offender gang nabbed :- Four youngsters from Andhra Pradesh who were wanted in 11 cases of thefts at various temples in Telangana have been arrested by the Rachakonda police on Wednesday. According to police, the accused persons were involved in 11 temple offense cases in the limits of Rachakonda, Khammam, and Bhadrachalam police Commissionerate jurisdictions.

According to the L.B. Nagar police, the accused persons are P Narsimha (23), P Saraiah (19), M Ramesh (22) residents of L.B. Nagar and their friend G Jagadish (21) of Bhadrachalam. All the accused hail from East Godavari district of AP and were caught near L.B. Nagar on Thursday when they were moving under suspicious circumstances.

Police said the accused select a temple in isolated places, where there is no security guard. Then they gain entry and by breaking hundis they commit theft of cash and gold ornaments of the deity. The ACP said, “The accused break the locks, enter the temples and escape with the booty. So far, they were involved in 10 cases of theft at temples in Rachakonda (5) and Khammam district (5), and also a case of bike theft at Uppal.”

During questioning, the accused persons confessed to committing thefts at temples in L.B. Nagar and also in Khammam district. Police recovered Rs 6,000, two imitated chains, a two-wheeler, all worth Rs 50,000 from the possession of the accused.
