IIT Hyderabad to introduce first ever Artificial Intelligence course in India

Up till now, there was no institution in India that had a complete course regarding on artificial intelligence. But now, the Indian Institute of Technology in Hyderabad for the subsequent academic year that is 2019-2020 is apparently introducing a Bachelor of Technology program in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As per the reports, there will be 20 students selected under this course and the students who want to join in can take the program through JEE-Advanced, which is a yearly engineering college admission examination in India directed by IIT.

According to the report, it is going to be the first ever institution, to propose such a course in India. Internationally, it is going to be the third institution to provide such course on artificial intelligence after Carnegie Mellon University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

IIT Hyderabad at present also provides a program of Masters of technology in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning.

The director at IIT Hyderabad, Professor UB Desai, said on this topic that the elementary purpose of providing this course is to construct a widespread ecosystem for Artificial Intelligence Academics and Research at IIT Hyderabad.

He said “the basic aim is to create a complete ecosystem for Artificial Intelligence Academics and Research at IIT Hyderabad. This involves B Tech, M Tech and different minor programs in AI.”

One of the significant constituents of the program is the moral influence of artificial intelligence on spaces like privacy, prejudice and many more. Not only this, but it will also emphasis on areas such as healthcare, agricultural science, smooth mobility, among others.

In computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), occasionally entitled as machine intelligence. It is the intelligence established by machines, in disparity to the natural intelligence presented by humans and further animals. Computer science describes or outlines AI study as the learning of “intelligent agents”: any device that observes, identify or recognize its surroundings and takes movements that make the most of its chance of magnificently attaining its goals or objective.

At present time, artificial intelligence is being used in an ever growing range of products such as cars or vehicles that drive themselves, computers that are capable to differentiate hazardous skin cancers from nonthreatening moles, bimetallic strip, speakers and digital supporters that are carrying the technology into our homes.

The growing requests for Artificial Intelligence have also generated a lack of skilled workers in this area, as per to Reuters. There are too limited possible workforces with training or practice in AI. In that situation, presenting a course in AI appears like the right approach advancing for India.
