India has played in World Cup many times and is considered as one of the strongest teams and it has reached the finals thrice in its lifetime. India has been winner of ICC World Cup twice in its career. India won the World Cup in 1983 and in 2011. In 1983, India won the World Cup against West Indies by 43 runs. In 2011, India won the World Cup against Sri Lanka by 6 wickets.
