Within the first 7th minute, India gets the penalty corner but somehow failed to cash in. The same was with the Pakistan in the 12th minute, but they also could not make it out.

Meanwhile, this was the very first time when India and Pakistan meet each other in the final of the Asian Champions Trophy hockey. India won its inaugural edition in 2011 by defeating the same opposition and Pakistan won the 2014 edition of Asian Champions Hockey by defeating Japan.

This win is specila for Indias as they won the final without few of their star players. Despite being the favorite, the No. 6 ranked team was facing the dark clouds of injuries on several of their players as ace custodian PR Sreejesh, who was rested due to pulled hamstring and Akash Chikte took the position under the bar.

India’s win against the Pakistan keeping in mind the ongoing circumstances is a big deal for the country and to flow the three colored flag proudly with the Asian domination in the game of Hockey.
