The ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to kick start kick-start on 9 April and before that all excited cricket fans will get to watch Indian and international artists performing during the opening ceremony at the Dome at NSCI-SVP Stadium in Mumbai today.
This year it is starting from 8th April 2016. The auction has been already done on 6th Feb, 2016 in ITC Gardenia in Bangaluru. Two new teams joining this IPL season: Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune.
8th IPL season was a grand success with the legendary performance of Rhitik Roshan, Anushka Sharma and Shahid Kapoor on 8th April, 2015 and end with high voltage cricketing spirit with final match bewteen the final champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians.
This year, American singer Chris Brown will join hands with American electronic music group Major Lazer and Bollywood superstars on Friday.
From Bollywood, the list includes Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez, along with rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Brown expressed his happiness after he was given an opportunity to perform in the opening ceremony of the IPL 2016.
An official statement released by Brown’s team read: “We are very excited to perform in India for the very first time… Looking forward to a crazy night of mayhem and meeting all my beautiful people in India.”
They tweeted: “Major Lazer Returns For 1 Night Only At The @Ipl Opening Ceremony!!”
