While Irfan Pathan will be seen in a prominent role in the upcoming Vikram film, tentatively titled “Vikram 58”, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and produced by Lalith Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio, Harbhajan Singh will debut in the Santhanam-starrer Dikkiloona, directed by Karthik Yogi and produced by KJR Studios and Soldiers Factory.

As per a press release, the shooting for the Vikram film will begin soon and will be shot in multiple locations across India and different countries. While AR Rahman will be scoring the music for this big project, Sivakumar Vijayan will be responsible for camerawork in this film that sees Vikram teaming up with Ajay Gnanamuthu, who is known for the movies such as Demonte Colony and Imaikka Nodigal.

The film’s co-producer Seven Screen Studio shared the news on Twitter. He wrote, “Proud and honoured to introduce @IrfanPathan in #ChiyaanVikram58 in a super stylish action avatar!! Welcome on Board sir and wish you a sensational debut.”

Gnanamuthu also tweeted, “Welcome on board @IrfanPathan Can’t wait to unleash your new avatar to the audience!! Time for some solid action!!”

The seam bowler also shared a video on Twitter confirming the news about his acting debut and wrote: “New venture, new challenge looking forward to it.”

On the other hand, Harbhajan also tweeted, “Introducing me to Tamil cinema @kjr_studios, #dikkiloona @SoldiersFactory, @iamsanthanam. Thanks to the team. The earth that formed. These are the relationships that stopped me from saying words.”

Meanwhile, Pathan has not played an international match since 2012. He last played a T20 game for India in 2012 against Sri Lanka. Pathan played 29 Test matches and managed to take 100 wickets. He also played 102 ODIs for the side in which he scalped 173 wickets.

While Harbhajan last played a match for India in 2016. The spinner has played 236 ODIs, 103 Tests and 28 T20Is for the side. He has managed to take 417 wickets in the longest format of the game and has scalped 260 wickets in the 50-over format.
