Jammu & Kashmir Civic Polls 2018: Valley turnout low, high polling in Jammu

As you all may know that after around 13 years Jammu & Kashmir is seeing the civic polls and the excitement is average. People aren’t coming out in big numbers but still, the polls are going right, and peacefully. We think that it was a very great step by the government and the people of J&K deserves the chance or freedom of electing a perfect leadership.

You all should know that Jammu & Kashmir is voting for the first phase of civic polls today. Even though, these civic election is boycotted by the two key parties in the Valley, National Conference, and Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party. We are looking forward to the further updates and Elections are being held in 422 of the state’s 1,100 municipal wards under heavy security.

Reports are coming that people aren’t looking excited about the election but we think they are going to participate in it in big numbers after a while. Also, the main thing is that the 2,990 candidates are in the fray for the four-phased election, which will end on October 16. Voting began at 7 am and will end at 4 pm. We think that it is everyone’s right to be able to choose his/her own leadership for the progress. Also, the people should understand that it is very normal and needed a process for the development of J&K.

The BJP has said that it has got control over seven municipal committees in Kashmir Valley as 75 of its nominees have been elected unopposed.
