Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the first prime minister of India. He was the significant figure in Indian politics before as well as after independence. With the help of Mahatma Gandhi, he flagged the way for Indian independence. His father Motilal Nehru was a noticeable barrister, who was also central leader of Indian national congress as well as an activist in Indian Independence.

In October 1907, Jawaharlal Nehru went to Trinity College, Cambridge  and in 1910 he graduated with an honours degree in natural science. Through this period, he also casually studied politics, economics, history and literature. Later, finishing his degree in 1910, he moved to London and studied law at Inner temple.

He joined Allahabad High Court After coming back to India. Subsequently his interest moved to national politics and by 1920, he became a central leader in Indian National Congress. Jawaharlal Nehru demanded for Complete Independence from British Rule in 1929. During this time Muhammad Ali Jinnah who was the leader of Muslims League also grew acceptance and popularity, who then demanded for the separate Muslim country. The fight of power between Nehru and Muhammad Ali Jinnah initiated in two countries that is India and Pakistan which lead to deadly destruction of partition in 1947. After serving almost 16 years in politics, Nehru died due to heart attack on 27th May 1964 at the age of 74 in New Delhi, India.
