Police officials said that the boy was getting the girl drunk in the hostel room. Later the boy was arrested by the police.
Police officials said that she attended a party held in December last year. The girl is an African -national and stays in the same hostel at JNU.
The girl lodged an FIR against “Udhip”. According to her statement, he made her and forced her to consume alchohol, and after that she passed out. Next morning she realized that she was subjected to a sexual assault.
She understood everything when she woke up. According to the foreign national, the accused’s girlfriend also attended the party at the hostel. She was also among those who attended the party that night.
After the incident, the woman informed university authorities of Jawahar Lal Nehru Universities about the matter. The whole issue was taken up by Gender Sensitisation Committee against Sexual Harassment. It’s an internal body who looked after such complaints.
So now the Gender Sensitisation Committee took four months to take an action against the accused. After four months the Gender Sensitisation Committee concluded that “Udhip” had raped the woman.
They registered a police complaint, and the police have arrested the accused. According to the sources, the accused is a citizen of Guwahati in Assam. Udhip had allegedly acted this worst crime on the 30-year-old foreign national woman in Lohit Hostel.
But it took too much time to registered an F.IR against the accused. Police arrested him on Friday from his hostel room and produced at Patiala court in Delhi. Well, he was sent to Tihar Jail.
