Kerala: A 19 years old microbiology student committed suicide due to ragging by the seniors :- A microbiology student allegedly committed suicide in Kozhikode. The family of student claims that she was the victim of ragging by college seniors. A Microbiology student was just only 19 years old.
On 9th May in Karnataka, a shocking case had come to light that another 19-year-old nursing student from Kerala was forcefully fed the toilet cleaner by her seniors at the hostel of Al Qamal College of Nursing in Kalaburgi. This ragging made a seriously damaging her internal organs.
The health of a student from Al Qamar College of Nursing School in Gulbarga, has been in a critical condition. She is the first year student. But she was in the hospital with several internal burns. She was shifted to the general ward of Kozhikode Medical College after she was in the ICU over a week at a hospital in Karnataka. The doctors of the hospital had said that the toilet cleaner fluid had burnt the internal organs of the student.
The three senior students of a nursing college were arrested in connection with the alleged ragging. On Saturday, two of them were sent to 14-day judicial custody on June 25. The third student is in the hospital. He could not be produced before the district magistrate at that time.
Dr. Esther who is the principal of the nursing school has said that there was no ragging. The Principal added that the girl drank the phenol because she had some family problems. The mother of victim is a daily wage labourer. The mother of victim took a loan of Rs. 300,000 for the education of her daughter.
