Kerala Congress (M) has left UDF alliance, now will remain as separate block : On Sunday, the leader of Kerala Congress(Mani) KM Mani announced that his party will be leaving the state’s United Democratic Front(UDF) coalition.

Mani said that his party will give only issue-based support to the UDF. The opposition UDF in Kerala is led by the Congress party. The congress party has the maximum seats in the coalition.


In evening on Saturday, Kerala congress party leader Mani indicated that the party will remain a separate block in the state Assembly. Mani also said that the foundation of a political front is based on help, mutual love and trust.

On Saturday, while addressing to his party workers at a camp in Kottayam, Mani said that If those are missing what is the use. We have got only suffering and contempt being in the UDF.

Mani added that the party will follow the policy of equi-distance from both the Left Democratic Front(LDF) and United Democratic Front(UDF).

Mani said that the party have been with the UDF for the last three decades in the state. Now time has come to re-examine our stand.

Former chief minister of Kerala and congress party leader Oommen Chandy said that the decision of Maniis unfortunate. The move of Mani will prove to be a setback for the Congress party.

The UDF lost the 2016 Kerala assembly elections to the LDF.
Mani said that The Kerala Congress (M) has shown that it can stand alone in Kerala politics. He added that the Kerala congress party has the support of lakhs of farmers of the Kerala State.
