Actor-Comedian Kevin Hart Suffers Major Back Injuries After Car Accident

Actor-comedian Kevin Hart has been majorly injured in the crash of a vintage muscle car in the hills above Malibu in Southern California on Sunday.

Kevin Hart Suffers Major Back Injuries

According to the California Highway Patrol’s collision report, 40-year-old Hart was riding as a passenger in a vintage Plymouth Barracuda when the vehicle veered off the road and rolled down an embankment on Mulholland Highway at about 1 am (local time).

Hart and the driver, 28-year old Jared Black, both suffered “major back injuries” and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Meanwhile, the other passenger, 31-year-old Rebecca Broxterman, in the car did not suffer any substantial injuries.

As per the CHP report, the car immediately went out of control as it turned from a canyon road onto the highway. The CHP said in a statement, “Black immediately lost control of the vehicle and the Plymouth left the road and rolled over down the northern embankment.”

The report also states that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

TMZ reported that the car smashed through wooden fencing along the roadside and that the roof of the vehicle was crushed.

The classic US Plymouth Barracuda involved in the accident was bought by Hart in July this year as a birthday present to himself. Hart said in an Instagram post on July 8, “I added some more muscle to the family for my 40th….welcome home ‘Menace’.”

Hart is a popular comedian and actor, known for his roles in ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ and ‘Jumanji.’ He was asked to host the 2019 Oscars but pulled out when old homophobic tweets of his resurfaced.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for Hart did not immediately respond for the comment request.
