At least 25 people have died and several injured in the unfortunate incident when an under-construction flyover collapsed in North Kolkata near Ganesh Talkies (Girish Park), Thursday afternoon. This incident has left the resident of the area in the state of panic. Several people are still trapped under the debris.
Rescue operations are currently working and debris are currently being moved away to save people stuck inside. There is a very bad condition on the spot where many people trapped under debris.
West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee has arrived at the site where flyover collapse. One of the eye-witnesses said, “It was a powerful collapse, sent shivers down my spine.” While another eye-witnesses at the site feared and said at least a 100 people could be trapped under debris.
Two units of NDRF have been sent to the spot and the Rescue operations are currently underway. Many injured people are being admitted to Hospital.
