Main accused in Bulandshahr gangrape case caught after week-long search

The police arrested the main accused and two of his accomplices, after a week the gang-rape of a woman and her daughter 14 years old on a highway in Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh.

On last week, 6 men dragging the woman and her daughter out of their car, had brutally gang raped a woman and her teenage daughter at gunpoint on NH – 91 in Bulandshahr when they were travelling with their family from Noida to Shahjahanpur.

The local police said that the main accused has been identified as Saleem Bawaria. He has been taken into custody along with his accomplice Zuber and another one.

DGP of Uttar Pradesh Police said on Tweeter that remaining 3 accused in this gang rape case arrested after week long chase across east India.

According to the Sources close to police revealed that the main accused Saleem and his gang always traveled by trains and buses to avoid police patrols and check posts.

According to a report of Hindustan Times that they keep rinch cutters, iron rods and other similar material to stop moving vehicles and captured them on gunpoint before performing robberies and other crime.

Earlier, UP Police had arrested Rais(28), Bablu(22) and Naresh(25). Th UP Police also detained a dozen others after launching a massive hunt for the bandits suspected to be behind the  gang rape crime.

Senior minister in the Samajwadi Party government Azam Khan had remarked that he suspected a political conspiracy behind the gang rape.

Bhartiya Janta Party had asked Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav to seek a CBI probe in the case if he has any shame left.

UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said that he would order a CBI probe in the gang rape case if the victim family demanded.

On Monday, Allahabad High Court had sought to know from the Government of Uttar Pradesh why the investigation in Bulandshahar gang-rape case be not handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
