Veteran director Mani Ratnam is occupied with the production of his venture that features Karthi and Bollywood star Aditi Rao Hydari in the pivotal roles. Sources have now reported that this film has been named as Kaatru Veliyidai and the crew has already moved to Ooty for their first shot schedule.
This schedule begins on July 8, and will be continued for about 40 days in and around the scenic locations of Ooty.
According to statements, Karthi is executing the role of a pilot and has to follow a strict weight loss diet regime to match the role excellently. We have learned that the crew is working hard round the clock to release Kaatru Veliyidai by the ending of this year.

This is not the first venture of Aditi with Mani Ratnam so the expectations are high. Also, Aditi is mugging with the Tamil language for her quick dialogue delivery. She landed on Thursday and since then is working hard to learn Tamil. Sai Pallavi had been taken into consideration in earlier but the filmmakers felt that Aditi would be finely suited for this part as the role demands a mature heroine. The actress has proved her bravery in a quality of films including Hindi and Malayalam.
Music director AR Rahman, cinematographer Ravi Varman and lyricist Vairamuthu are part of this Mani Ratnam project, which will be produced by Madras Talkies and released by Sri Thenandal Films.
The film will begin shoot on July 8 and will be shot in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam simultaneously. The film is being produced by Ratnam under his banner Madras Talkies.
