Massive Fire in shanties in Delhi’s Rithala, 35 fire tenders rushed to spot

On early hours of Monday, a massive fire broke out in shanties in Delhi’s Rithala. Immediately, the accident was reported to the police and firemen. As per the sources that 35 firefighters vehicles rushed to the scene. Fire trucks and firemen are involved in the effort.


Around 2.10am, The fire is so massive that that nearby area was covered with the black smoke. Some private vehicle also burnt due to the fire.

“The operation is on. The cause of the fire could not be known yet,” an official said, adding that senior police officials of the district and the fire department chief have rushed to the spot to take note of the situation.

“Many cylinders which were kept in the slum burst due to the fire,” he said.

Fire department official Dharampal said the residents were really angry as the fire tenders were taking time to reach the spot.

” The road to these slums has been blocked due to some pipeline work. Every resident wanted that their shanties should be saved first. This resulted in pelting of stones,” he said.
