MIUI 11 Global Stable ROM to launch Alongside Redmi Note 8 Series in India on October 16

Xiaomi has teased that the MIUI 11 Global Stable ROM will be announced in India on October 16. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is all set to launch on the same day, and the company could bring the phone with MIUI 11 out-of-the-box, unlike its China variant that came with MIUI 10.

MIUI 11 Global Stable ROM to Launch

Xiaomi took to Twitter to announce the launch of its next-generation Android skin MIUI 11. It has already been released in China and is being rolled out for Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Redmi K20 smartphones.

The company might announce the timeline for the MIUI 11 Global Stable ROM update and its features on the day of launch. It should also reveal the phones that will be eligible for the major update. The MIUI 11 was officially announced in China last month and now on October 16, it will be unveiled in India as well.

Alongside MIUI 11, Xiaomi will also launch its Redmi Note 8 series which will comprise of Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. The Note 8 Pro is expected to get the latest MIUI out-of-the-box. It might become the first Redmi phone to get the latest update.

Redmi Note 8 Series in India

MIUI 11 will come bundled with dynamic font scaling, a new reminder feature, customisable lock screen, and dynamic sound effects. It will bring Mi Work and Mi-Go apps which will allow users to activate an emergency mode by pressing the power button five times consequently.

The Redmi K20, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi 7 are amongst the early handsets getting MIUI 11 in China. There’s an ongoing thread on the Mi forums wherein users are sharing screenshots of receiving the MIUI 11 software on their phones. For those planning on installing the China ROMs, we recommend waiting for the OTA update to arrive on your phone, or look for it manually by going into Settings. Ensure that you install this significant update while keeping your phone on charge and are under a strong Wi-Fi connection.
