In India, the Doctor’s Day was launched and established by the government in the year 1991 that also recognise and celebrate the work of physicians on the each and every year on the 1st July.
The day is also marked as the birth and death anniversary of the well-known doctor and the physician of India Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. Dr Roy was born on July 1, 1882, and he died at the age of 80 in the year July 1, 1962.
It was really unique that he died on his birthday and for that whole world celebrates the National Doctors Day.
He also received the honoured Bharat Ratna Award on February 4, 1961.
On March 30th, 1993, The first Doctor’s Day was observed in Winder, Georgia. The day was celebrated by sending some cards to the physicians, doctors and their wives, flowers were placed on graves of deceased doctors also.
The day is symbolised by red flower as red flowers are signifies love, charity, sacrifice, bravery and courage. These are also some terms which describe the medical profession in the world.
