New Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2018 launch in August, Check Price, Specs & Pics: The new 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, is all set to launch in the first week of this August, as per several media sources. As we all know that, India’s largest carmaker’s sedan — the Ciaz – is all set to be rolled out in August, and now another news for the automobile gadget lovers is coming that a new car Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is also ready to launch.
Bookings for the new car are all set to start from the end of this July, the sources added.
Maruti Suzuki had already planned to replace the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine in the Ciaz with an in-house Suzuki-developed, which is the massive powerful 1.5-litre diesel engine. But somehow the company finally decided to stick with the tried and tested Fiat powertrain.
The petrol variant although is getting a bump up from the existing 1.4-litre petrol to a hybrid 1.5-litre engine. This move arrives in the backdrop of a common complaint chiefly specific to the Ciaz petrol that the powertrain is underwhelming in an or else good car anyway.
Ciaz’s competitors are consists of the Hyundai Verna (1.6-litre petrol) and the Honda City (1.5-litre petrol) for instance which have more powerful engines.
Diesel variants of the rivals to have been more powerful which does arrive as the bit of a surprise that the company that decided against upgrading the oil-burner post initial plans of boosting the engine also.
Whereas there will be some cosmetic changes appeared in the front and rear of the new sedan, the interior will get carried over from the preceding generation, the sources added further.
In 2014, it was first launched, as the Ciaz has not seen any major updates, except minor cosmetic tweaks. With Hyundai and Honda both having launched updated versions, the writing was seen on the wall for Maruti Suzuki.
The 2018 version of the Ciaz was largely expected to be launch and unveiled at the Auto Expo in February. But, Maruti Suzuki decided to instead focus on the launch which is for the famous hatchback Swift at the biennial event.
The Toyota also set to launch the Yaris on this week, this can give competition in the sedan segment is only to have more intense.
Regarding the pricing of the new Ciaz is concerned, the company is yet to finalize them, the sources added further.
But this one is probably going to be higher than the current range. The Ciaz is currently available in the Rs 8-12 lakh bracket anyway, as per reports.
