New Delhi: On Saturday, The Saket Court convicted Mahmood Farooqui who is the ‘Peepli Live’ co-director for raping an American woman, 35 years old in the year 2015.
The Saket court has fixed 2nd August 22016 for arguments on the quantum of sentence. Co-director Farooqui has been taken into police custody.
The Delhi Police arrested Mahmood Farooqui of raping an American woman, 35 years old who was in India to conduct research for her doctoral thesis from the Columbia University.
However, Farooqui denied the allegations and he said that he was falsely implicated.
The Saket court had started the trial in the case after framing charges of rape under Section 376 of the IPC against Mahmood Farooqui.
A charge-sheet was filed against the filmmaker Mahmood Farooqui. The victim woman alleged that Farooqui raped me at his Sukhdev Vihar house in south Delhi on 28th March 2015.
