Peter Fonda ‘Easy Rider’ & ‘Ulee’s Gold’ Star Dies At 79: Actor Peter Fonda, an American actor who is best-known for his iconic role in the 1969 counterculture classic Easy Rider as a free-spirited motorcycle rider died at the age of 79. He was at his home in Los Angeles when he died on Friday.

As per to a family statement which was released to People magazine, Peter was battling from lung cancer and the cause of his death was respiratory failure.

The Fonda family wrote, “In one of the saddest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our hearts. As we grieve, we ask that you respect our privacy,”

They added, “And, while we mourn the loss of this sweet and gracious man, we also wish for all to celebrate his indomitable spirit and love of life. In honor of Peter, please raise a glass to freedom.”

Peter Fonda was the only son of Hollywood legend Henry Fonda and socialite Frances Seymour Brokaw. He was also the brother of actress Jane Fonda.
