As we know, Anarnath Yatra has been carried out from the traditions and keeping in mind the traditions, Pilgrims for the first batch of 2015 enroute Amarnath Yatra from Jammu and they have to cross over 3,888 metres high cave shrine and is 45 km from Pahalgam and 141 km from Srinagar in south Kashmir Himalayas.
Amarnath Yatra Started From Jammu
This Yatra can be carried out in two ways-the first one includes helicopter and the other includes trekking.Generally helicopter is prefered by old ones who cannot walk to the whole journey while trekking is more prefer by the young bloods and also some old fit ones.Fewer years back visiting cave was easy but now government has put several restrictions on the pilgrims which they have to follow.In Old times,no restrictions were there for pilgrims.Everything could be done online,no medical tests were required,tickets booking were easy .
Earlier any age persons could have darshan , but from past 2 years, only above 13 years and maximum of 75 years age pilgrims will have darshan, due to this those yatris who have children of below 13 years may not go, or else will have to assign someone to take care of their children, which is not an easy job. Due to all these factors where 6 lakhs pilgrims had darshan in 2012 , in 2013 and 2014 only half, approx 3 and 3.8 lakhs respectively Pilgrims had darshan but with the departure of time government has become more strict and they dont want any kind of misharm during the journey and thus,pilgrims are reduced to 10%.
Moreover, this yatra has two possible routes one is through Jammu- Srinagar- Sonamarg- Baltal- Sangam- Holy cave and other route is Jammu- Patnitop- Pahalgam- Chandanwari- Sheshnag- Pissutop- Panchtarni- Sangam- Holy Cave and pilgrims according to their satisfaction chose one of them.
The journey takes 4-5days and is situated 45 km from Pahalgam and 141 km from Srinagar.Travelling the whole journey is not the easy task at all,some may give up during it.Also you should have have complete info,medical certicate, registration must be done and if possible carry the maps to avoid any problem.
