PV Sindhu Becomes First Indian To Win BWF World Championship Title, Final Match Highlights :- The Total 2019 BWF World Championships which started on August 19, Monday finally concluded today on 25 August, Sunday, giving PV Sindhu the BWF World Championship title. BWF World Championships is a prestigious badminton that held at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.

PV Sindhu Becomes First Indian To Win BWF

PV Sindhu becomes first Indian to win BWF World Championship title after getting a brilliant 21-7, 21-7 victory against Nozomi Okuhara in Basel. Sindhu also became the second player ever to win five World Championship medals.

Sindhu was very delighted after winning the title and said, “Last time I lost the finals, before that also I lost finals…and it is very very important to win now. I thank the crowd for supporting me day in and day out.”

She also dedicated the medal to her mother on her birthday as August 25 is also the birthday of her mother. “I dedicate this medal to my mother it is her birthday. A big thanks to my coach Gopichand and Kim Ji Hyun (Korean coach and my support staff),” Sindhu said.

After achieving the first Indian to win BWF World Championship title, Sindhu also achieved the title of second women shuttler to have five medals and the third to have medals in all three colours.

 

PV Sindhu vs Nozomi Okuhara final highlights

The first game begin with a 22-shot rally, but that was the solitary moment to Okuhara which gave her some hope at that time. After that, all the way Sindhu was unstoppable. From the beginning of the match she stamped her authority with an eight-point burst to move into 8-1.

The amazed Okhura made her second point after that. But that 8-point burst reformed the whole appearance of the game and later the match.

Sindhu was stuck to a tactic of pushing the shuttle to the back of the court and smashing hard every time she got a chance. Okuhara on the other hand tried to drag her near the net but Sindhu revert her every move and was up to it as she saved quite well at the net. At 16-4 Sindhu made a pleasant crosscourt drop which kissed and moved down the net.

2019 BWF World Championship:

On the other hand, Okuhara also tried to get as many points as possible but at the same time unstoppable Sindhu created so much gap between their scores that it was almost impossible for Okuhara to cover it up.

Okuhara tried hard but that did not work for her as Sindhu was bent upon concluding the game as fast as possible and knocked her rival out of the competition finally at the end and won the tournament.
