Rajnath Singh slams Kashmir Separatists for not meeting all party team Leaders

On Monday, Home minister Rajnath Singh said that the behaviour of Kashmiri separatist leaders towards members of an all-party delegation that reached out to them over peace talks in the violence-hit region defied the spirit of Kashmiriyat and insaniyat.

Before concluding the all-party delegation’s visit to the restive valley, Rajnath Singh told reporters that some members of the delegation went to meet Hurriyat leaders. We had neither said no nor yes to their meetings (with separatists). You know what happened. They had gone there in their individual capacity.

Separatist leadership on Sunday refused to meet the all-party delegation from Delhi, delivering a blow to efforts to bring all stakeholders on board for peace talks in Kashmir. In Kashmir – 74 people have died in clashes since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani on 8th July 2016.

Rajnath Singh said that the government was worried about the situation in J&K. We all want that things in Kashmir need to improve.  Rajnath , addressing a press conference in Srinagar, said that J&K will always remain an integral part of India.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani who is Hurriyat chairman did not let the MPs in as JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav and Communist leaders D Raja and Sitaram Yechury waited at the door of his residence at Hyderpora for about 10 minutes before returning.

Asaduddin Owaisi who is AIMIM leader, met the Chief cleric of the valley – Mirwaiz and Shabir shah who is moderate Hurriyat leader.

The Home minister Rajnath Singh said that what I learnt from some members of the all-party delegation, who went to meet the separatist leaders, was certainly neither ‘Kashmiriyat’ nor ‘insaniyat’ (humane).

Further, Rajnath said that if you do not want to talk is a different thing, but they proved that they have no faith in democracy.

Singh said that the central government was ready to talk to anybody and everybody who was interested in normalcy and peace in the valley.

He said that not only our doors, but our window ventilation is also open for anyone who wants to talk to us for bringing in normalcy and peace in the valley within the ambit of ‘jamhooriyat’, ‘Kashmiriyat’ and ‘insaniyat’.
