Ambani will speak about Reliance Jio at the Annual General Meeting. However, it remains to be seen if he goes ahead and announces a final date for a full launch. Given that the service has been much delayed that could be a bit of a risk.

Earlier, the Reliance Jio SIM was available only to those buying a Reliance Jio Lyf smartphones, but over the past few days, a large number of brands have also been extended the offer to get a SIM. Only a handful of hands, including Apple, are now not tied to the service.

There has been an overwhelming public response to the service, primarily driven by the access to free high-speed data till the service goes commercial. However, despite the rumours, there is no idea what the final tariff structure will be like.
