Republic Day 2019 will see ‘Many First’ such as All-women Assam Rifles contingent, INA veterans, Gorkha brigade, female daredevil: You all should know that the 70th Republic Day is here and we are about to see the few “Many First” in the republic day period. You all might know that the parade takes place on the Rajpath and everybody is quite ready for the action. We are going to see army’s newly acquired artillery guns, a march by an all-women paramilitary contingent from the Assam Rifles, and we are going to see a lone woman officer exhibiting bike stunts on Rajpath as part of the iconic daredevil team.

Some of you might know that the artillery gun system M777 American Ultra Light Howitzers which was acquired from the US is also going to be on the period. You all should know that thirty years after the induction of Bofors guns, the Army for the first time will showcase its new big guns. It is really great news for the Indian army and people should also celebrate the festival in a positive way.

As per the reports, Major General Punia, the second-in-command of the Republic Day parade, said, “For the first time, the Army will showcase its new artillery guns at the parade. M777 A2 ultra-light howitzers, which were inducted into the Army in 2018 from the US, will be seen at the parade.” Some of you might know that this day is really amazing for our nation and if you don’t then you should.

You all should also know that a symbol of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India initiative which is K9 Vajra self-propelled guns will also be displayed for the first time in the Republic Day parade. Even we are going to see few new big gadgets like two defense projects of DRDO — Medium Range Surface to Air Missile and Arjun Armoured Recovery and Repair Vehicle will also be shown here. Major General Punia also said that four Indian National Army (INA) veterans, aged over 90 years, will also take part in the parade for the first time.
