Jayantilal Gada who is the Producer of movie Kahaani, has expressed his desire to make the third part of the Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’.
When asked about the title of Kahaani2 , Gada said that I suggested Kahaani should have that name (Durga Rani Singh in the title). Every year we will make one Kahaani. Next year some other ‘Kahaani’ will come.
Sujoy Ghosh who is the Director of the movie, also feels if there is an interesting story, then ‘Kahaani 3’ should be made.
He further added that it is not necessary that I have to do ‘Kahaani 3’. If anyone has a strong subject then they can make the third part. If I get a good subject I will make it.
Earlier the sequel of ‘Kahaani’ was titled ‘Kahaani 2′, then the makers of the movie gave it a new name as – Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh.
“Durga Rani Singh’ was the name of the another dream project of director Sujoy.
He further adds that I really liked that name (Durga Rani Singh) so I kept it. I think a sequel should have its own identity, like in ‘Kahaani’ it was Vidya Bagchi and then now with the sequel, it is Durga Rani Singh. So we felt instead of calling it just ‘Kahaani 2’ we gave it an identification of its own.
In the movie Kahaani 2, also starring Arjun Rampal. The film will be release on 2nd December 2016.
