Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Anniversary: Quotes, Slogan, Poster & Images: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who is also popularly known as Sardar Patel and the great ‘Iron Man of India’ was born on 31st October 1875 and was raised in the rural area of Gujarat. In his early life, he was a successful lawyer who then became one of the most influential leaders in Gujarat under British Raj. He was the first Deputy Prime Minister of India and also leader of the Indian National Congress. He played an important role in India’s struggle for freedom beside the British Raj.  He also freed numerous farmers and laborers in non-violent civil disobedience movement from Kheda, Bardoli and Borsad. He also organized the party for elections in 1934 and 1937 and also promoted Quit India Movement at the same time.

Sardar Patel was known to have returned from the grasps of death not once or twice but thrice. Firstly, he suffered from the deadly Bubonic plague and that was his first encounter with the death but luckily survived. Later, he nearly died of a massive heart attack after Bapu’s assassination. The third time was in 1949 he was in the plane and the plane lost radio contact due to some technical issues. The pilots however made an emergency landing and everyone escaped without getting hurt. But he was not lucky for fourth time, in the summer of 1950 Patel’s health rapidly declined and from that time he was in bed rest but one morning of 15th December 1950 Patel died after suffering a massive heart attack at 9:37 a.m., this was his 2nd heart attack which he couldn’t survive.
