Say No to Piracy! Censor Board introduced DCP to Protect upcoming from Online Leaks :- As after Udta Punjab the movies started to leak which created a lot of criticism towards the CBFC. This pushed the board to create the Digital Cinema Package (DCP) tool. So, the upcoming films like A Flying Jatt, Pink, Baar Baar Dekho and Freaky Ali have been submitted through the DCP as to protect those films from leaks and piracy.
Another was, the expense of submitting a project which amounted within Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 has been waived off and the censor board fee has been lessened to the minimum. Finally, the three theaters – Sunny Super Sound, NFDC and Famous Studios – which used to charge a huge amount for a screen up to three films every week has been fixed to Rs 8000. This has turned into a big relief for single, smaller or first-time filmmakers and producers.”
This initiative was complemented by well-known directors like IFTPC association members Harry Baweja and JD Majethia, president Sajid Nadiadwala, Vice Presidents Ramesh Taurani and Ratan Jain. The Censor Board faced endless criticism for leaked censored copies of Sairat, Udta Punjab, Kabali and Great Grand Masti. This move is under process and soon the CBFC will streamline the process under which the censored copies will be returned to makers in three days.
Mr. Galani further said the process is followed with Sohail Khan’s Freaky Ali,
“The process includes digital submission on day one, censor viewing on day two and certification issued on day three. We’ve successfully carried this out with Sohail Khan’s Freaky Ali already,”
The loss for the past leaks was not only suffered by the makers but also by the Government in order to the entertainment tax.
