SIT to focus its investigations on Nayeemuddin’s link with cops

Hyderabad: On Wednesday, Y. Nagi Reddy who is currently Inspector General of Police, named as the Head of the Special Investigation Team(SIT) probing the cases of ravenous gangster Nayeemuddin, amain set the squad of eight-member.

DGP of Telangana Police Anurag Sharma issued the appointment order and announced the name of the Head of probing team. Eight snoopers have been taken from various police units from Telangana State Police.


DGP of Telangana Police told media that the Probing team will investigate the various criminal activities of Nayeemuddin and his accomplices in the Telangana state. The SIT Team also probe the sources of the confiscated material, especially explosives, arms and ammunition and land documents.

At the initial stage, SIT team visited the house of the ravenous gangster Nayeemuddin at Alkapuri township. The Cyberabad West cops also explored the bedroom of Nayeemuddin as part of new round of search with commandment of a court in Alkapuri.

The special investigatin team will also focus into the role of some police officers who had close ties with Nayeemuddin. The name of some police officers have been found in the encounter of Sohrabuddin of Gujarat. The interrogation of the arrested accomplice of gangster Nayeemuddin, Riyaz progressed.

A police official said that Some DSP, ASP, and inspectors from both state Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were helping the Gujarat Police through the gangster Nayeemuddin to lay their hands on Sohrabuddin.

The aide of Nayeemuddin, Riyaz detained

On Wednesday, the Telangana Police detained a close aide of gangster Nayeemuddin, Riyaz. Riyaz was involved in several murder cases in Bhongir. Manhunt was held in Airport Colony in Kuntloor, Mansoorabad, Vanasthalipuram, Hastinapuram, and Shamshabad at the residences of relatives and helpers of gangster Nayeemuddin. Police also searched the house of Sridhar Goud who is the driver of gangster Nayeemuddin and confiscated the huge stock of currency notes.

ACP Gangi Reddy said that  as per the commandment of the court the police would continue their exploration at the locations where the relatives and supporters of gangster Nayeemuddin lives, to dig up the incriminating evidences and other materials related to the case.

The Telangana Police also searched the house of Sudhakar who is the aide of gangster Nayeemuddin. But Sudhakar is absconding since the day of the encounter of gangster Nayeemuddin happened on Sunday.

SP of Nalgonda Prakash Reddy said that we are verifying the land documents. All the cases are being handed over to the  probing team – SIT.

Sudhakar, Inspector Shakir Hussain, Wanaparthy Circle; Inspector Rajashekar Raju, Korutla Circle, Karimnagar; Inspector Samala Venkatesh at  CCS, Sangareddy; Inspector P. Madhusudhan Reddy, Kodad Circle; and Inspector Seetharam, Armoor circle.
