Star India Retains Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 2021) Rights Check Price Sponsors Time

The Pro Kabaddi League is an Indian Kabaddi league and that was started in 2014 and also, broadcasting on Star Sports since announced. Season eight was scheduled in 2020 but it was being canceled in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. But, this year the last year’s history will not repeat because the match will be held definitely this year and it will start from July 20 to October 19, 2021. Now, the famous TV channel, Star India has captured the media rights to broadcast the 2021 Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) for the next five years according to the details of InsidSport. The sources said on April 17 that Star India took the responsibility of five years to broadcast by bidding over Rs 180 crore annually.

While the sources say that the last year paid out was around Rs 90 crore. It was said in a statement that the broadcaster will responsible for world-class feed on producing level and also, establish its marketing committee for the league. As per the news, Star Sports have been broadcasting Pro Kabaddi League for the last 7 years, and now, it’s the first time that the organizer of the game, Mashal Sports organized a bidding process to sell the rights of broadcasting the Kabaddi for the upcoming five years.

InsideSports tried to reach Mashal Sports but did not receive any response from the representatives of Mashal Sports. The Pro Kabaddi League’s tender was finished after the last order of the Delhi High Court to conduct the tender for any upcoming future order of the court and it will depend on the binding on the tender’s result.

Mashal Sports has the rights of the majority shareholder of Star Sports and also, signed with AKFI a 10-year deal to operate, handle, and promote the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Now, the contract is in 8 years. The supplicant claimed that the contract between two parties was invalid from when the court-appointed administrator was handling the governing body. There are allegations against AKFI Chief and some other officials.

“When there is a time period of 10 years between AKFI and Mashal Sports so, who provide the authority to Mashal Sports to manage the tenders in the ongoing contract period,” said supplicant.

According to the reports, Rs 900 Crore was a fixed base price of the Pro Kabaddi League media right tender. As per the sources, many parties bought the document of tender but no one came in front to bid for the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2021.
