Syed Shahabuddin the former IFS and MP died at the age of 82

On Saturday morning, Syed Shahabuddin who was the former IFS and MP died at the age of 82 at a hospital in Noida. He was suffered from prolonged illness. Shahabuddin had strongly opposed the demolition of the Babri Masjid. He was the leader of the Babri Action Committee.

Syed was born in the year 1935, in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Shahabuddin began working as a diplomat for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), but later he became a politician. Syed served three terms from 1979-1996 as a Member of Parliament.

Shahabuddin served the country as an ambassador, a diplomat, and also a politician. Former IFS and MP – Syed Shahabuddin was the Joint Secretary in charge of South East Asia, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific in the Ministry of External Affairs.
