A mild – intensity earthquake magnitude 5.1 on Richter scale hit Andaman islands on Thursday. The earthquake hit at around 2:00 am in the night.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the depth of the earthquake was 10 km and hit the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago known as high seismic zone.
There are no reports of damage to life or property yet.
No tsunami alert have been declared by the authority till now.
