UP cop shot dead in Bulandshahr violence: CM Yogi Adityanath announced Rs 50 lakh compensation: On Monday morning, an inspector of the Uttar Pradesh Police was shot dead by an unidentified person. The inspector is identified as Subodh Kumar Singh who was posted in Bulandshahr. This incident took place when a crowd turned violent in a suspected case of illegitimate slaughtering of cow near Chingrawati village, under Syana police station limits. Subodh Kumar Singh was posted as the station house officer (SHO) at Syana Police Station.

The post-mortem report of Late Subodh Kumar Singh discovered that he was shot close to his left eyebrow with a .32 bore bullet and the bullet get into his skull, causing the reason for his death.

Anuj Kumar Jha, district law officer of Bulandshahr, said, “In the post mortem, gunshot injury has been confirmed to Late inspector Subodh Kumar Singh. Bullet entered near left eyebrow and is inside skull.”

Subodh Kumar Singh was the SHO of Bisada Village in Dadri, infamous for the execution of Mohammed Akhlaq over a violence related to cow slaughtering. He was the investigating officer of Akhlaq’s murder from 28th September 2015 to 9th November 2015.

According to the reports, there are total number of two FIRs that have been lodged, one FIR is filed against the suspected illegally cattle slaughter and the other one is against the disputes that took place on Monday.

According to the earlier reports from Bulandshahr on Monday, said that Subodh Kumar was killed when he was smashed with a stone by the angry and annoyed mob after they found cow remains in the forest of Chingrawati village, close to the Syana Police Station limits. Later, it was revealed through post-mortem report that he was died because of bullet injury.

Various other cops were also injured along with a local young man, Sumit who was about 20 years old and was allegedly killed in police firing.

Anand Kumar who is the additional director-general (ADG) of Uttar Pradesh, in Lucknow, said that the autopsy report also revealed that apart from the bullet injury, other injury marks from hard and unpointed objects are found on Subodh Kumar Singh’s body.

He said to the media “A special investigative team (SIT) has also been formed and inspector-general (IG) range from Meerut will probe into the entire gamut of issues about the incident”

The Opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh criticized the occurrence along with pointing the ruling BJP government in UP.

Abdul Hafiz Gandhi, who is the spokesperson of Samajwadi Party criticized the situation of law and order in UP, by targeting UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath that “he has no time for governance in the state”.

He further added “He is busy in election campaigning in other states, neglecting the responsibilities for which he has taken constitutional oath. Samajwadi Party wants government to concentrate on basic issues of governance and development.”

BSP leader Mayawati also targeted BJP over the violence in Bulandshehr by saying “The BJP is responsible for providing sanction to all kinds of chaos”

Meanwhile, the investigation is going on to identify the person who killed Subodh Kumar. Also, the Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath has asked for a initial report of the happening within two days. Yogi Adityanath also announced the compensation of Rs. 40 lakh for Subodh Kumar’s wife and Rs 10 lakh for his parents along with a government job for Kumar’s family member.
