US: 14-Year-Old Shoots Dead 5 Family Members, Confesses To Police :- According to the police officials, 14-year-old American boy shot and killed five family members at their home in Alabama in the US, before throwing away the pistol and calling the police to confess his crime on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said that the shooting occurred on Monday night in the town of Elkmont, Alabama. Five people were shot, with three dying at the scene and two later in hospital.
The sheriff’s office said on Twitter, “The 14-year old caller was interviewed and confessed to shooting all five members of his family in the residence. He is currently assisting investigators in locating the weapon, a 9mm handgun that he said he tossed nearby.”
The boy in custody was not identified and the possible motive for the murders was also ascertained. It was unclear where the teenager obtained the gun.
According to statistics compiled by the Giffords Law Centre, an advocacy group, Gun violence is a prevalent feature in American life with more than 36,000 deaths a year, about a third of them homicides.
The killings follow a rash of mass shootings in the United States, including a weekend one that happened in Texas which left seven people dead and 22 wounded, including a toddler. Also in last month, a gunman killed 22 people and wounded another 24 in El Paso, Texas, while another assailant killed nine and injured 27 in Dayton, Ohio.
Amid the renewed national debate, President Donald Trump said at the weekend that background checks on the gun purchasers would not have prevented recent violence.
