Morgan, who is the winner of the gold with the US national team at this year’s Women’s World Cup in France, made the announcement with an Instagram post.

The picture shared on the social media platform shows Morgan standing alongside fellow footballer Carrasco with a chalkboard that reads: “Baby girl April 2020”. They’re both also holding up a babygrow emblazoned with the slogan: “Ready or not.”

In her caption, Morgan stated that the “newest member of the Carrasco family” is “coming soon”. “We are already in love and we haven’t even met her yet.”

Carrasco, who plays for LA Galaxy, also shared a post on Instagram in celebration of their news. He wrote, “Can’t wait to meet my baby girl,” alongside a picture of him, Morgan and their two dogs.

Thousands of Instagram users rushed to wish the athletic couple congratulations on the news of their upcoming arrival, including several of Morgan’s teammates.

However, Morgan’s post did not include any details about her playing career plans.

Meanwhile, the striker had recently said that she planned to play through the 2023 World Cup. Her daughter’s birth next year falls just three months before the US women will attempt to recapture their Olympic title at the Tokyo games in July.

While representing their soccer teams, the couple has been seeing each other since their college days. They married on December 31, 2014, and recently announced Alex’s pregnancy on Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

The couple, who are already parents to their two pet dogs, currently live in California and Florida, making their marriage a long-distance one. However, they know that they need to make the most of these fruitful years, since their career may not last longer than 5 to 6 years.
