The 136th edition of US OPEN has seen quite a few instances that have amazed its fans all over the globe. Serena Williams Yesterday made set a record by equalled the record of 307 Grand Slams wins and now Lucas Pouille defeated the Rafa Nadal, on Sunday and amazed the world.
This win enabled the Lucas Pouille to reach the quarterfinals against the fourth-seeded Rafa Nadal. The 22 year- Lucas take the charge in the match early and finally thrashed the 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(6) in a four-hour match.
Although, many eyebrows were raised and it was said that this win of Lucas Pouille was just a fluke. But, 24th seeded Lucas stand out and told everyone that this win was not a fluke and this win that enabled him to reach the quarterfinal was for ATP title was just a result of my hard work.
Pouille told media wing that ” It’s my first match on the centre court, against Rafa. I couldn’t dream better than this.I learned that it’s never over until the last point.I was a break down in the fifth, I came back and led 6-3 in the tiebreak and he came back. Yeah, it’s never done until the last point is over.”
Meanwhile, Nadal told media wing that “it was a close match and I would like to wish my opponent a best of luck for the upcoming matches.”
Well, Nadal has shown a great fight but Pouille made a strong point and now he will look to the next match against 10th-seeded compatriot Gael Monfils in the last eight.
