A piece of breaking and sad news comes from the state of Uttrakhand where a glacier in the Rishiganga project in Reni, Joshimath, Uttarakhand, is stated to have prompted extensive demolition. As per the latest reports, many people have been swept away and with this many houses have been washed away and it is expected that many power projects are damaged. The department reached the spot where all the mishap takes place and relief and rescue work for normalizing the state is going on. The police officers of Chamoli district requested the civilians to leave the banks of the Alaknanda river to abandon the place and also Police tweeted a tweet through their official social media handles that “Rishiganga Power Project has been damaged after a glacier broke in the Tapovan area. People living on the banks of Alaknanda river are advised to move to safe places at the earliest”.
After that, the Uttrakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat provided a helpline number for the people who are stuck in the flood and through his official social media handle, he tweeted that “If you are stuck in the affected area, if you need any kind of help, please contact Disaster Operations Center number 1070 or 9557444486. Please do not spread rumours from old videos about the incident”. In addition to this he informed all the civilians that due to this massive flood, the water meter gets increasingly rising time to time in the Dholi Ganga river, so the water department stopped the flow of water of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda river.

Also, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) passes statement on social media that “Heavy flooding was witnessed in Dhauliganga near Reni village, where some water bodies were flooded due to cloudburst or reservoir rupture and many riverbank houses were destroyed. There is a possibility of increasing casualties”. After that, a huge number of an armed force of ITBP personnel have reached the spot for rescue.”

According to the latest updates of the incident, several houses gets washed aways just because of the heavy breakdown of the glacier and with this, it is expected that many power projects are surely damaged. However, the ratio of people who get affected by this is still not revealed by the forces who are there for rescue but after seeing all the videos and pictures it clear that it will cause a big loss. Thre glacier which gets brake with a loud sound is near the Reni village in the district.
In the project, there was expected 50-60 labourers who work at the Power Project have been mopped away in this deluge but the Uttrakhand CM Trivendra Rawat tweeted through their social media handle that the department requested the people to ignore the rumours about the death of several people and the rescue work is going on.
