The Vijay Hazare Trophy, which is also known as the Ranji One-Day Trophy is considered to be one of the prestigious tournament in Cricket. It was all started back in the year 2002–03 as a limited-overs cricket domestic competition that comprises of state teams from the Ranji Trophy plates. The tournament is named after the famous Indian cricketer Vijay Hazare.

When Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20 will get started?
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20 will kick off on September 24, Tuesday. This season, there will be total of 38 teams that are going to compete to win the tournament. There are four groups in the tournament and those are: Elite A, Elite B, Elite C and Plate.

Which team is the Defending Champion?
This year, Mumbai are the current champions of 2018-19 season, making them defending champion for this year. That was also their 3rd time when they won the title by beating Delhi in the finals. Tamil Nadu on the other hand is the most successful team having won the trophy 5 times. This year Chandigarh are competing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time ever.
