Virat kohli reaches the milestone of 10,000 ODI runs in his 205th ODI innings. This might be an extra special record for kohli as while accomplishing this target he also breaks the record of his idol,the legendary Sachin Tendulkar by 54 innings quicker than Sachin. Sachin Tendulkar who is the first and youngest player to cross the 10,000 mark run in ODIs.but now Viat kohli set the new record of fastest scoring 10000 ODI runs.

Earlier Sachin Tendulkar completed his target of 10,000 ODI runs in 31st march 2001 and became the first ever batsman to reach this milestone. He took 259 innings to reach this target at the age of 27, in ODI v/s Australia at Indore. While Kohli reached this mark at just 205 innings on 24th October 2018 at the age of 29, in ODI against West Indies. Other than that Virat Kohli is the fastest to get the landmark of 8000 in 175 innings and 9000 in 194 innings.
Virat Kohli reached this mile-stone during the 2nd ODI of the on-going windies’ tour of India at Visakhapatnam. He started the series with 9,779 runs in 203 innings. He required 221 runs to achieve the feat. He scored a century on the first match at Guwahati which left him with 81 runs to cross the barrier of 10,000 runs. He scored half century in the 25th over and continued in his usual form and on the 3rd delivery of the 37th over, Kohli achieved the target with former captain MS Dhoni at other end.
Kohli received instant admiring reaction on social media platform such as twitter. Others cricketers like Virender Sehwag, VVS Lazman, Irfan Pathan, Azhar Ali, Suresh Raina etc. also reacted on his achievements by congratulating him on twitter.

Kohli again proved himself through his great efforts and commenced training that he is the most ferocious and unrivalled batsman of all time by achieving greatest achievements in such a small age. Kholi becomes the fifth Indian Batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs following Sachin Tendulkar (18426), Sourav Ganguly (11363), Rahul Dravid (10889) and MS Dhoni (10143). He is now the 13th batsman overall to enter this elite club by 100076 scores in 205 innings.
