Patna High Court granted bail to former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in the case of a murder of a witness to the 2004 killing of two brothers in Siwan, Bihar.

Mohammad Shahabuddin is a criminal turned politician. He was elected 4 times as a MP from Siwan, Bihar with the party of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and won 2 times as Member of Legislative Assembly to the Bihar Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly). Being convicted in many criminal cases, he was debarred from contesting the general election 2009.
Criminal Shahabuddin was found guilty in May 2007 in a case of abducting with intent to murder and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. So he would be unable to contest any types of elections. Patna High Court granted bail to him on 11th September, 2016.
